Hi! My name is Baylee, the owner and sole operator of Crochet With Bay! I am so happy you have taken the time to support my dreams of being a full time crochet artist. I started crocheting as a hobby when I was quite young (7 or 8) and continued throughout the years whenever I was feeling crafty. Much like a lot of others, COVID was the catalyst for the start of my small business. Entering a vulnerable state here, I have suffered with an Anxiety and Panic Disorder for the majority of my life and it only heightened when we were all left alone with our thoughts during that dark and isolating period. In late 2020, desperate for a distraction I picked up my crochet hook and some acrylic yarn (yeah I know yuck) and started counting my stitches and to my surprise, the hum of racing thoughts in my brain slowed. I have slowly adapted what I like to crochet and really 'niched down' to plushies in the past two years. April 2022 I finished my Degree in Kinesiology with specialized honours and May 2022, I quit my job to pursue crocheting full time. It was the scariest thing I had done in my life but I was finally living. This past year has been the absolute hardest and trying times but it has also been a time for self discovery and revealing how much I am capable of. So, I have really enjoyed getting to know myself and I hope you all enjoy getting to know me through my work as well.
